Abstract

Globalization over the last 25 years has led to a significant increase in the import of components from international suppliers given the goods used in different locations around the world in search of cost reduction and economies of scale, with the centralization of product manufacturing in different parts of the world which led to a considerable increase in the use of international transport from these locations to the rest of the companies. The objective of this work is to present the use of the center of gravity tool to make a decision on which mode of transport will be used in the delivery of products, and the result found is based on the decision making of placing a consolidation center, with a point of collection of goods at a certain point in the country, it is possible to achieve a reduction in freight costs, and optimize delivery time to supply the company. The use of the work methodology used was qualitative research with bibliographical research.
