Abstract

Picking is the process of separating and preparing products so that orders arrive at the correct time and place to the recipient, which is therefore extremely important for accurate delivery times. However, it is necessary to optimize this execution so that there is greater productivity in the logistics process and for the company to achieve end consumer satisfaction. This article aims to analyze picking in a retail store and analyze improvements in ecommerce order picking with the aim of making the process more agile and eliminating existing bottlenecks. To be able to simulate the development of improvement, Arena Software and a case study were used to concretely analyze the obstacle. Through observation, it can be concluded that the simulation reduced separation time, optimizing the benefit of the working day. In light of the above, it is necessary to relocate idle employees to areas with a higher numbers of orders so that the mentioned store achieves higher productivity levels and a lower percentage of bottlenecks in activities.
