Case Study in the Analysis of the External Setup of a Plastic Packaging Company Through Simulation

With the growth of technological development, the companies to monitor the evolutions, it was necessary the application of techniques and technologies, which lead to the automation of the entire industrial process. In this context, the simulation platform in the organizational processes allowed the verification and optimization of the complex system in a virtual environment. The simulation enables the verification of the operation of the system in different scenarios, allowing models and procedures that introduce improvements in the business system, increasing the quality and accuracy in decision making within the companies. This project is based on this theme, through a case study, showing a proposal for reformulation in the layout of the rotogravure printing process, which uses a Thunder printer, to positively influence the movement of materials, consequently reducing external setup time, of a small plastic packaging company, located in the East zone of São Paulo. With the aid of the simulation platform, points of improvement were identified in the process of moving the materials used in the setup, through the change of the positioning of the resources, obtaining a significant reduction in their times, Increasing the accuracy and speed of the results.
