Relevant Aspects in the Management of Drug Production in a Compounding Pharmacy

Pharmaceuticals are products with intrinsic characteristics that require specific care in their production process, following strict criteria of norms and resolutions that govern this market, in order to guarantee the integrity of their physical-chemical components and deliver to the consumer a product that preserves all its original properties. Compounding pharmacies represent a significant portion of this market, due to their unique nature of catering to the individual needs of their customers. Sometimes, they handle products with a high added value, such as the drug Tacrolimus, used in immunosuppressive medications, which are supplied in packages containing only one gram, given their high value. The present study aimed to explore in a practical way general aspects involved in the production process of medicines in a certain compounding pharmacy located in Guarulhos/SP. The research method employed is the case study, with a qualitative approach and a descriptive exploratory approach, and the research instrument used was a structured questionnaire with open questions.
