This article analyzes the impacts of implementing the WMS (Warehouse Management System) on the supply chain management of a scientific articles distributor. The study methodology consisted of an applied and quantitative research, complemented by a literature review and a case study, utilizing the Arena software to compare performance with and without the system's use. The results emphasize that adopting the WMS tool enables increased efficiency and productivity, reducing unnecessary purchases and inventories, in addition to addressing the lack of product traceability reported by the studied company. Consequently, it provides greater business competitiveness and performance, aligning the organization with the trends of Logistics 5.0.
