The Impacts of Covid-19 on the Event Sector in the Eastern Zone of São Paulo

This study investigated the impacts caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on the events sector in the Eastern Zone of São Paulo city. The relevance of this topic lies in the economic and social importance of the sector, which generates numerous direct and indirect jobs. The main objective was to understand how companies in this field remained active during the pandemic, despite the challenging and unstable context. Quantitative field research was conducted through standardized questionnaires applied to 21 local companies. The results showed that most businesses experienced a considerable drop in revenue but adopted alternative measures such as online events and stronger customer relationships. It is concluded that although the pandemic deeply affected the sector, it also revealed its resilience and adaptive capacity. Nevertheless, reinforcing strategic planning and innovation is essential for dealing with future crises.
