Strategic inventory management is a key factor for the operational efficiency of industrial environments, especially when it involves critical components such as mechanical seals. These devices, responsible for sealing rotating systems, are essential to ensure the continuity of production processes and prevent failures that may lead to financial and operational losses. This study aimed to analyze inventory management strategies applied to mechanical seals in industrial settings, focusing on the improvement of maintenance processes. A qualitative bibliographic review was carried out, based on books, scientific articles, and technical documents available in databases such as Google Scholar, Scielo, PubMed, and institutional virtual libraries. The theoretical analysis was structured around three axes: strategic inventory management, industrial maintenance, and mechanical seal characteristics. The results indicated that integration between logistics, engineering, and maintenance, combined with the use of criticality analysis tools and technical indicators, contributes to increased operational reliability and cost reduction. It was concluded that the adoption of strategic inventory management practices for these components can represent a competitive advantage when based on accurate data and aligned with real operational needs.
