Abstract

The e-commerce is a business model that has been gaining significant ground in recent years by providing greater convenience to customers, enabling them to make purchases from anywhere using an internet-connected electronic device. Despite offering benefits not only to customers but also to companies, along with these advantages come issues related to the time elapsed from purchase to delivery. The aim of this article is to highlight the main complications faced in the process of order preparation and delivery to meet the proposed lead time for the market and present a solution to the bottleneck. The research utilized experimental and quantitative methodology, using the Arena platform for the manipulation of numerical data and testing hypothesis variables measuring the resulting effects. In the end, the understanding is reached that it is possible to meet the expectations of the preparation time expected by the customer without facing bottlenecks during the process. Thus, the Arena software contributes to the process optimization, identifying bottleneck points and achieving the process goal, as the company's objective was to reduce the total time of order traversal in the system.
