With the advent of climate issues in the world, countries have been looking for ways to seek the decarbonization of productive activities. In 2021, the world had 131 green hydrogen matrix projects, approximately investments of more than 500 billion dollars. With the Ukraine War, the effects unfolded in an energy crisis in Europe due to Russian gas, which accelerated the energy transition process. The main polluters seek alternatives for sustainable development where energy and transport sectors are major polluters. The port sector has great prospects for investments in this area. Currently, production costs for green hydrogen are even higher when compared to gaseous hydrogen, averaging US$6 per kilogram versus US$1.5/kg. Even with a greater immediate cost, the investment is for the longevity of the world, needing to avoid the increase in temperature, and as energy represents a large polluting portion, the change must start with it. The main objective of this work seeks to analyze the port of choice, its aspects of competitiveness, administration, port competitiveness and its growth in the national scenario. The research methods were: exploratory research, bibliographical research, qualitative and quantitative research.
