Simulation Applied to the Analysis of the Processes of a Distribution Company in the Animal Inputs Sector

Business management relies on an effective administration system; the way information is used and organized can even become a competitive factor in the consumer market, considering the impacts it has on resource management within the company, potentially preventing waste and unnecessary expenses. However, for small business owners, data handling can be a daunting task; many overlook crucial information that could optimize their processes, resulting in often unnoticed losses. Through methods of analysis and simulation generated by the use of the ARENA software, it's possible to examine the processes within the company and identify issues such as bottlenecks, deficits, and other possibilities. With proper treatment of the acquired information, it was discerned that there might be a deficit in the inventory, as there was a discrepancy between the analyzed quantity and the quantity obtained in the simulation. Thus, methods such as lead time optimization, increased safety stock, and the like become a potential solution.
