This article aims to analyze the differences and complementarities between paid traffic and organic traffic in digital marketing, highlighting their strategic relevance for companies in competitive environments. The research is qualitative and exploratory, based on a literature review of publications from 2020 to 2025, using databases such as Google Scholar and SciELO. The academic justification lies in the scarcity of comparative studies that address these strategies in an integrated manner, while the practical justification is the need to guide professionals on how to optimize investments and results. Findings indicate that paid traffic, supported by advertisements, provides immediate return, segmentation control, and greater effectiveness in rapid conversion campaigns. Organic traffic, built through SEO and relevant content, promotes brand authority, customer loyalty, and long-term sustainability. The literature suggests that integrating both strategies enhances digital performance, increasing ROI and predictability. It is observed that hybrid approaches represent a competitive advantage, especially for companies seeking agility and adaptation in times of uncertainty.
