Operational Analysis in a Distributor Through Simulation with Arena Software

Sorting orders in an e-commerce distributor is an essential step to ensure efficient deliveries. However, bottlenecks in this process can result in delays, as observed in a Flex distributor, located in the North Zone of São Paulo. Based on this problem, simulation in the Arena software was used to reproduce the real environment and test improvements in the process. Real process data was collected and simulated, identifying that the inclusion of a new employee in the picking stage could optimize time and reduce the number of stuck orders. After the simulation, a significant improvement in operational efficiency was observed. Therefore, the use of simulation is effective for studying logistics processes, allowing us to test solutions and optimize operations safely, providing better operational analysis.
