The social media can be used as a form of entertainment as well as a marketplace place where people can advertise, sell or buy products within the platform. The study being conducted is intended to clarify how these media are being used by people within the workplace and is currently one of the most used means for the dissemination of their services or products, as a means of leveraging your merchandise and as a venue for your sales. The research was conducted at a Higher Education Institution (FATEC East Zone) focusing on social media users who have some work. The objective of the research is to analyze the user’s perception regarding the use of social networks. The results demonstrate that social networks are currently an indispensable media for companies and users, mainly as a means of communication among the employees of the company and as a means of facilitating work in the workplace.
